self drawing

What is the strongest area of your work?  Why?
The strongest area of my work is the shading, although it's very subtle in the overall image. I put a lot of effort into shading my nose, jawline and fingers.
What area of your work can be improved on? How?
I think the drawing aspect could be improved on. The table doesn't really look like table with dimension and depth and there's not much detail on the shirt and face.
What was easy about this art activity? Explain.
The easiest thing about this art activity was filling in the white spaces with colors.
What was difficult about this art activity? Explain.
The hardest thing about this art activity was creating all the lines and curves in Illustrator because I don't use Illustrator often and its not easy to work in.
What mediums (materials) did you use? What tools in Photoshop/Illustrator did you use? How did you use them? Be specific.
All of the lines and curves were drawn in Illustrator after I scanned in my pencil drawing. In Photoshop, I used a gradient for the background. I used the paint bucket and brush to fill in colors. I also used the burn/dodge tools for shading. And, I pulled images from the internet to create overlays/texture in the table and pizza.
How did you demonstrate the objective (the goal) in this art activity?
I drew a cartoon self-portrait, traced it in Illustrator, filled in the colors in Photoshop and added various effects to get the desired outcome.
If you could do this art activity again, what would you do differently?
I'd create a whole new drawing and use more realistic colors.
